I realize these haircuts are getting harder to describe. This one is almost a pixie, but a little longer on the sides with wisps and the back has an interesting design on the bottom.

I'm just not sure how to describe it so the right person finds it. So I'd say artistic hair or short playful hairdo.

I guess I'll just call it a long pixiecut and be done with it.

The back fo this is layered, this is a good cut for people with finer hair, (thick hair would be too bulky and need to be thinned out. The back is layered, but if you wanted it more one length, you could do that as well.

You would could also wear this cut as a sleek cut.

I love this short haircut with bangs. Absolutely darling. It's not bobish, but very layered.

This would be a great hairstyle for someone with an oval face.

Here's Katie Holmes with long hair in a white modest suit, then the more sophisticated Katie with the chin length darling flip bob, side part with wispy bangs, in a strapless silvery dress.

While I think she is very cute with long hair, it shows how you can achieve a sophisticated sexy with short hair on women. Of course, she does look older with the short hair, so that's something to consider.

This is a side view of the most gorgeous cut and blonde hair color. Wow! I love this look with the layers that aren't too choppy at all. Very retro and very chic.

I had to laugh at what she wrote though--

My hair only looks like this for about a week and I can never keep this length/cut. After said week it looks like I am James Spader trying to grow my hair out for a bad movie

*****So, it sounds as if it needs a lot of maintenance (most short hair does, getting cut every 4-5 weeks!) But geez, I think this is one of the best short hairstyles I've seen so far in 2009. And her blonde color is absolutely perfect. This goes down as one of my favorite hairstyles for 2009.

While some folks aren't going to be able to pull this off, this is a great urban chic look for someone who wants an easy yet young, kind-of-indie but not really look. You could go more indie with some strands of color, but a great chic look for someone in the city (id' say)

It's a short cropped hairstyle and not quite a pixie cut. She has longer bangs which look great as they have some layering in them and around them but not as much as a pixie cut does.

Again, this is a great style for women with oval, longer, or even square faces. I like the casualness of this style, but also the fact she could really change it to something very formal.

A lot of women don't realize that short hair can be more variety than long hair.

This is a good hairstyle for finer hair. It's chin-length, which is a very good length for women with oval or long faces an the side bangs also help wiht that. It's slightly layered around the edges of the cut and just a slight angle (shorter in the back, longer in the front) but not as extreme as we've seen with Posh Spice hair, etc.

I think this is a good winter style and to brighten it up for summer, all you need are some highlights and you have a nice fun summer do as well (she could even go shorter in the summer)

Very easy care too.

This is a great example of a stylish pixiecut. Also, I like that she has accessorized with the olive headband. It's a good size and not too girly, but makes the cut even cuter.

It's a dark brunette, maybe even black color with short layers and baby bangs. Cute girl side burns which always look great on short pixie haircuts.

It's an easy hairstyle for women, just some gel or not and off you go. This is also a great style for older women with grey hair.
